Undie of the Month – December

Undie of the Month – December

image1In our continuing effort to help women find their joy from the inside out, the ladies of JOY are trying undies we carry in the store and giving our honest opinion.  If you like what you read come on in and try your first pair for at a friendly discount!  This style is by Wacoal – it’s a hi-cut brief in somewhat of a silky feeling fabric.  It’s available in nude, ivory, and black at the shop!  Here’s what we think.

JOY Team #1:  This is a lot of underwear for me.  I haven’t had this much coverage since thewacoal_bodysuede_hi-cut_brief_panty_89371_back-view_nude_175x238 post-partum mesh knickers that new moms are so grateful to wear.  The nylon/spandex fabric is light and soft and there is a cotton panel.  I think I could have gone down a size.  There is a generous amount of fabric for my tush.  The problem for me is that the underwear comes up above my belly button, a good inch above my belly button.  I am high waisted and buy most of my clothing to sit on or just above my hips.  These aren’t the underwear for me.  I may consider wearing them if I was wearing a dress and my stomach felt chilly.

JOY Team #2:  I’m almost always in jeans or tight bottoms, so I typically prefer thongs. However, if I’m wearing a flowy dress or high-waisted loose skirt, this brief would definitely be a comfortable option. The hi-cut style was new to me, but I wasn’t mad! There wasn’t excess fabric bunching around the front of my hips, which can sometimes happen when I wear undies with more coverage. There’s definitely some room to fill in the tushy area, so if you don’t have a lot going on back there, this may not be for you. The nylon-spandex wacoal_bodysuede_hi-cut_brief_panty_89371_black_210blend is super silky and lightweight. I would suggest sizing up because the waistband is a little tight.

JOY Team #3:  This underwear was not great for my shape. I have a smaller bottom and larger waist than average proportions, and so the full bottom was a bit loose while the waist was a bit snug. The fabric was nice and the little bit of lace on the edge was not itchy at all. If you like  a high cut brief these are a great alternative to the more basic spandex styles.

JOY Team #4:   TeamThe November undies of the month were a particularly pleasant treat. They were the Wacoal hi-cut brief in a silky fabric with lace detailing. I truly liked everything about the fit & wearability of this style- in fact, I may just have found a new favorite!

JOY Team #5:  I gave this underpants the ultimate test as I wore them on Thanksgiving Day – first under sweatpants and then under a skirt.  In both fashion situations, they stayed put!  I have a larger bottom so the full coverage was appreciated.  If you are tall and are looking for a fuller coverage underpants, I would highly recommend giving these a try.

At JOY, we know that finding the right underwear is sometimes harder than finding the right bra!  In addition to full-coverage brief styles like this, we stock thongs, boyshorts, and bikinis.  Hope to see you!
