An Open Letter to Megan at Yellowberry Bras

An Open Letter to Megan Grassell at Yellowberry Company

Dear Megan,

About an hour ago yet another person forwarded me a link about you and Yellowberry.  (I think this makes about 10 people who have done that)  I think you and I are on the same basic page about bras – that finding the right one is really important.

I opened a bra store in Vermont about nine months ago because there was no place to buy a bra in southern Vermont, and also because I thought that maybe I could help women feel better about bras.  My store is called JOY and our mission is to help women find their joy from the inside out.  So many women hate their bras and hate bra shopping, yet they have to wear these things every day.

I think that women would hate their bras less if they felt better about the first ones they wore.  I think that most women today did not grow up learning about bras – what the sizing means (and doesn’t mean) and what different styles are or even how bras function.   I doubt very much that many of the adult women today had a great first bra shopping experience.

Introducing girls to bras in a loving way starts with actually having product that is appropriate.  “Fit” not only means size, but it means style too.  I have looked through catalogues and gone to trade shows and there are just not great choices out there when it comes to finding pre-teen bras to have in my shop.  Thank you for doing something to change that.

I sent you a letter via your website about being interested in carrying your bras at my shop.  Thanks for your quick response to tell me you aren’t quite there yet when it comes to wholesaling.  When you are, I’d like to be first in line.

Bras are important, and perhaps no bra is more important than your first one.  Thank you for what you are doing and I look forward to carrying Yellowberry Bras at JOY.  You have a lot of us “older” women rooting for you.

Sincerely,

Joy
