Sometimes you can drive yourself crazy trying to make a decision. That’s how I feel right now about closing the shop on Thursdays in March. I’ve pretty much driven myself crazy trying to decide whether or not to do it.
Thursdays are our slowest day of the week. I can look such things up in our fancy point-of-sale system’s “reports” file. (Can you believe we’ve been open over a year and a half?) Thursdays are even slower than Sundays, which can sometimes seem really slow. This is doubly interesting as we are open one hour less on Sundays than we are on Thursdays. Thursdays also are a day that I like to personally take off – especially in the summer. (Golf! No apologies!) If we are going to close one day a week, Thursdays make the most sense.
The idea to close one day a week came out of a combination of things, but mostly because I’m feeling like the staff – including me – is a little stretched as far as covering all of the shifts it takes to be open seven days a week right now. Some of you might be asking why we wouldn’t close on Mondays in March like our neighbors Zippy Chicks. Well, it’s a funny thing about Mondays at the bra shop – we are usually quite busy!
So, we are going to close on Thursdays at least for the rest of March. Mud season is a good time to try such things. Thank you for understanding and thank you for supporting all the crazy things we do at this damn bra shop.
