I got a Soda Stream a few months ago and it’s the best thing that has happened to my kitchen in a long time. I drank more water. It was fun to flavor it. I was so psyched not to have to buy all those cans and bottles of plastic. The bubbles and fizz never ceased to impress. I enjoyed making something…
My friend Hadley gave it to me. She just said to me one day, “Hey, you want a soda stream?”
I said, “Sure… Why don’t you want it?”
She said, “I don’t need it.”
So, she gave it to me; and it sat in my kitchen for four months. Ellen and Denise, probably sick of just looking at it and dusting around it week after every other week, put it together for me one Tuesday – and even had a bottle chilling in the fridge for me when I got home. Drinking that cold seltzer water was pure joy. I wanted to do it again, and again….so I have. All summer long.
It’s been wonderful summer for a lot of reasons. Sometimes it’s dark out and you just want to say thank you for the things that bring you such light. What has given you light and brought you joy this summer? What little gifts have turned into big ones?
Fizz on, my friends.
Much love,
Joy
“Turn on the Water” is a song by the Afghan Whigs and it popped into my head as I wrote this story down. I’m going to be in the car a lot today, and this song will be cranking. It’s raining. It’s perfect.
Ah, music…and water…and sharing what you don’t need. So grateful for these “little” things. Good morning!
