The idea for doing a trunk show at the shop has been kicking around ever since we opened. We have this great little retail space literally in the “backroom” that has been kind of screaming for it, but for this reason or that (…we had the Farmstore back there for a while and we kinda like having a place to eat lunch) we haven’t pursued the idea…until now. This Saturday, we’re going to do it. We’re “popping up” a trunk show just for the day featuring a couple of very cool and talented women – you like fashion and jewelry and COLOR??? Come on into the”backroom” featuring MaryJane Artwear and Judi McCormick Jewelry. This Saturday, December 12th from 11-4.
MaryJane Artwear: MaryJane Sarvis applies paints and dyes to silks and velvets to create scarves and couture that have turned celebrities such as Carly Simon and Oprah Winfrey into fans. She graduated from Bennington College and now lives high on a hilltop in southern Vermont. Her creations have been featured at Bergdorf Goodman and in museum shops across the USA. She happens to be friends with Courtney and brought up the notion of a trunk show over coffee. We’re so glad she did!
Judi McCormick Jewelry: Judi travels the world in search of pearls and gemstones and creates unique necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and cuffs. I am one of her many many fans and proud owner of one of her “not so classic” pearl necklaces. I wear it pretty much every other day of my life – and get compliments on it just as much! She lives and creates right here in Manchester and in addition to beautiful jewels, Judi is an innovator of jewelry solutions such as the “rabbit ears”(they keep your heavy studs standing up straight) and magnetic “connectors” which can turn one necklace into a variety of looks.
