New York City, New York: JOY all things underthings, a full-service lingerie shop in Manchester, Vermont, announces the winners of the inaugural JOY at CURVE Awards. The CURVE Expo, the lingerie industry’s largest trade show, took place at the Javits Center from July 31-August 2.
The winner of BEST SWAG from this year’s CURVE Expo comes from Natori with their face compact accessory complete with mirror and blotter paper. The competition was fierce with Chantelle and Curvy Kate both offering dynamite red panties and bags respectively. Natori received the nod based on the swag’s uniqueness and good timing during New York’s August luggage-lugging trade show season.
BEST LUXURY ITEM: This award was thisclose with Natori again coming in strong with an unbelievably luxurious (reversible!) kimono, (which you can order here) however the award goes to Marlies Dekkers with their Couture Collection geisha-inspired bra, waspie, and pantie set. An absolute WOW trifecta of luxury worthy of pre-order madness. You don’t want to miss this. Pre-order here
COLOR TREND: Yellow was everywhere at Curve! Seems to be the color for spring 2017. We’ll have at least two yellow bras in stock for the season – thinking Natori Feathers and Chantelle Parisian. (why wouldn’t we?) Who looks good in yellow? You! Hello, yellow…
The award for BEST INNOVATION was no contest with Anita’s new lock-down wireless sports bra with a patented lining material. No bounce means no bounce with this bra set for a spring 2017 launch. Pre-order NOW for March delivery. Available in GREY and PINK! Check out the test on their 34G model in this video! She jumps and They. Don’t. Move. Video
The 802 AWARD represents the item that speaks Vermont in tribute to our all-inclusive 802 area code. Commando’s Fox thong wins hands down. Figures they’d get Vermont as they too are a Vermont-based company! We ordered this foxy thong in heavily, but anticipate high-demand. If you want it for sure-zees, pre-order now in size S/M or M/L.
Our mission at JOY is to help women find their joy from the inside out and we are proud to announce that this year’s JOY MISSION AWARD goes to Uber for bringing us such joy! JOY’s Joy, Julie, and Lila experienced their first Uber ride while at this year’s CURVE. We giddily watched the little black cars on Julie’s iPhone screen circling around our location. We are completely aware that we are about five years behind the times, but we loved our experience. Look for an Uber Joy on JOY blog post soon.
THE UNICORN AWARD: Every week a woman comes in the shop asking for a bra that, well, just doesn’t exist. We call it “The Unicorn.” We are happy to report we found one at Curve. It’s the elusive cotton bra with no wire and a front-closure. By golly, it’s real! Anita’s German engineering makes this wireless/cotton/front-closure a supportive bra up to an E cup. Will be in the shop by late August. Pre-order here!
The JOY at CURVE Awards were judged by this year’s attendees from JOY all things underthings in Manchester, Vermont: Joy, Julie, and Lila. Awards selection was based on their opinions only and do not represent the opinions of other lingerie shops, vendors or the organizers of the CURVE Expo.
