The shop is loaded to the gills with bras and sleepwear this time of year. Fall styles and colors in the house! There are a few things I’m loving these days. I’ve found some joy…maybe you will too!
Five Fall Faves…
Leggings As a lingerie shop owner, I struggle with whether or not we should sprinkle some apparel into the mix sometimes. When items like Commando leggings come in, it gives me confidence that once in a while, yes, we should go ahead and bring in some overthings. I am currently LOVING the Commando denim leggings. Extremely comfortable and might I say flattering. I pair with one of my tunic tops from Eileen Fisher and a pair of boots and voila, fall style! Did you know Commando is based in South Burlington, Vermont and that most of their products (including these leggings) are made in the USA? All the more reason to love, right? Underwear How exciting can basic underwear be? If you’ve lived your whole life being uncomfortable because you can’t find underwear that stays down low enough in the right spot or high enough in another without being too big or too small, then you get excited about underwear like the Chantelle “soft stretch.” I’m loving the brief style as it hits just the right places. We have the bikini style too, which is a little lower rise…and the plus size for size 18 and above. Unbelievably, these basic underwear are one-size fits most. Available in basics ivory, nude, and black and in some fun colors too!
Nightgown I’ve always been pajamas all the way until I opened this shop five and a half years ago. Now I’m a huge nightgown fan and it is all because of the brand P.Jamas and their 100% Pima Cotton nightgowns. They come in 2 lengths (short and long) and 3 sleeves (tank, short, and long). My current personal favorite is the pink short sleeve, long length. This summer I was all about the white tank sleeve, short length. The fabric in these gowns (they make pajamas and robes too) is second to none and I wear it during all of the Vermont seasons. The fabric just feels wonderful, what can I say! XS-XL
Bra Well, since we are talking about things I love this particular week, I have to say it’s the Marlies Dekkers “Gloria” in tartan blue. I wore it to host the Red Carpet of ITVFest last weekend, and wow, did I feel some joy from the inside out. Yeah, baby. This bra is low-cut, it’s a push-up, and it is a racer back in some sizes. Sale stuff One of the best things about owning a lingerie store is that when it’s time for things to go on sale, you get first dibs. I’ve loved this bra by Prima Donna since the day I first saw it in the spring and when we had one left in 34C headed to the sale rack, I was psyched! I’m wearing it today as a matter of fact. This bra was originally $148, now $79. There are only 4 left…if you are a size 34D, 34E, 36C, or 36D, you can score too. (it is AMAZING that these popular sizes are the ones left!)
